One of the biggest selling artists in the UK of late has been David Gray. Who is he? This reviewer asked the same question up taking to reviewing this DVD and it soon dawned on him that he had found a male version of Tracy Chapman. Whether that is a good or bad thing in your eyes remains to be seen but the music and lyrics here are of exceptional and creative quality.

This special live show was recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall in May and Weller was supported by his band and a full orchestra. Tickets for the gig sold out within hours of going on sale.

The emergence of British composer Thomas Adès was one of the exciting musical phenomena of the 1990s. This 1999 film is adapted from David Alden's stage direction for the original Almeida and Aldeburgh Festival productions and was originally shown on Britain's Channel Four. The settings offer splendid period detail, suggestive of faded elegance for the Dorchester Hotel suite where the aging Duchess has her flashbacks and of a bygone era's glitz.

Bearing in mind that this was filmed at an out-door venue, and that it starts late evening and goes on into the night, the lighting and camera work are simply first class. The content is perhaps a predictable mix of dancing interspersed with singers and musicians, but it is done with genuine flair and expertise.

Michael Flatley is an incredible dancer, and can be forgiven for being such a solid extrovert. The sound track is also excellent, and covers the full range with plenty of firm bass. This DVD is one of my favourites: even if you are not a lover of Riverdance, I think you will admire the sheer energy, colour and vibrancy of this production.

One thing is certain: when Michael Flatley says "If I never do another show, I'll die a happy man" he is probably right. It will be very hard to beat it...

Directed by David Mallet and filmed at Madison Square Gardens, The Velvet Rope DVD sees a natural synergy of Janet's distractive vocals and sweet melodies with harder edged dance rhytnms, state-of-the-art sounds which appeal to a multitude of musical tastes. Janet brings us her inimitable soul, funk, and dance synergy once again in a world tour set to out-gun the past triumphs of Rhythm Nation 1990 and Janet 1994.

Directed by David Mallet, notable for other works with David Bowie, Queen, David Gilmour, Elton John and Cirque du Soleil brings the popular singer/songwriter Phil Collins to the screen in this exciting live performance in Paris, featuring such modern pop classics as "In the Air Tonight," "Sussudio" and "Another Day in Paradise."…

Eric Clapton has achieved the seemingly impossible, becoming more popular in his most recent 10 years onstage than in his first decade in the spotlight. His 1997 Live In Hyde Park home video documented a triumphant concert of the previous summer that followed his massive "Tears In Heaven" hit a few years earlier. This is classic rockin' and guitar-wailin' blues-is-king Clapton.
